Glenshiel (2011- Easter)

DESTINATION: Glenshiel Lodge, west coast of Scotland

CLUB 11-70 HOLIDAY REP: Ruth Watkins (thanks for organising it all, again!)

Saturday 9th April 2011 will probably be remembered as my best weather day ever in Scotland. Here, after a swim on the way up, you can see me taking in the sights while wearing a kilt on top of Sgurr Mhic Bharraich. The others with me (because without others I would never have made it to the top- or even been on holiday in Scotland) can be seen below.

People

The 2011 line up.

Dinner time line up. I spy a dog, but can you see a Womble?

Mountains

The expeditionary force on top of  Sgurr Mhic Bharraich (look even Martin is in shorts!). Contrast to photo below taken earlier in the week!!

On top of a monroe earlier in the week was less than pleasant. And then it started raining/sleeting…..

Not so nice when its wet, cold and snowy!!

Or when you are scared of “heights/exposure” or think everyone else is going rather fast!

Animals

Highland Cattle can look scary but they can present a challenge to the photographer

I might be scared of alot of things, but Highland Cows are not one of them!

Gosh how cute (the pigs silly, not Digger!)

Beaches

The beaches on the west coast of Scotland are up there among the best in the world

Although you do sometimes have to make a bonfire to say warm (at least in April)

Rivers and lochs

River Elchaig. Beautiful (the river not Digger), but disappointingly shallow (a bit like Digger afterall?)!

Nothing disappointing about Loch na Leireach!!
