Braemar (2017- Easter)

The Gang

Attendees at this years Easter Holiday near Braemar

Oh OK. This the real gang

Here is the Lady of the house (well that’s what she told us)

The holiday house? (quiz)

Was it A?

Was it B?

Was it C?

Was it D?

Or was it E?

The locals

Many walks were undertaken. Some did so many that they turned “native”

Not everyone was as affected by the full moon (in the background)

Walks

Some groups walks were fun

Some group walks were cold

Only three of us made it up a lesser known Monroe called Little Erick

Then there were two (on the Heritage Walk!)

Then there was one.

Which made resting much easier

The Highland Games

Shot put

Javelin

Star Jumps

Trapeze

Gate climbing

Gate climbing (right) and, erh, something else (centre)

Gate limbo (“is she stuck?”)

Levitating

An Uno competition has taken place every year for as long as anyone can remember. After all these years everyone approaches it as a chore and no-one is interested in winning, oh, oh, oh, except Neil

And despite “twenty years of hurt” he finally won. (NOTE. However, the judges have launched an investigation into Neils campaign because there is a suspicion that he was aided and abetted by a Pink Cat).

Animals

Scotland is famous for its Highland Cows

Easter Scottish Holidays are famous for Polly “the human dog”

Its is a little known fact that you can find pink cats in Scotland around Easter time

Scenery

Scotland is beautiful

So much so that sometimes you think you are in South America

However, it does sometimes seem smaller than one might think

Water

Water

Water, water, everywhere water

Best Scones of the holiday

The Watkins Sisters are the queens of scone-making (I was told to say this. But its absolutely true)

“Best” auto-timer photo of the holiday

Err. Where’s Digger?

“A man who doesn’t know how to use his camera in auto-timer setting is no man at all” (pers comm. Sam. Aged 11)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED AND MADE IT SUCH A GOOD HOLIDAY.

SPECIAL THANKS TO DR WATKINS FOR ORGANISING YET ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL “CLUB 18-75 HOLIDAY”.

Hang on. It Digger is holding the Uno trophy. So it must be true that after the doping allegations the results have been re-evaluated.
